Registered Veterinary Technologist
Amanda began in the veterinary industry in 2008. She worked at a small general practice in Calgary while pursuing her Veterinary Office Assistant Certificate. After completing the program, she enrolled in the Distance Education Animal Health Technology program through Thompson Rivers University, and graduated in November 2012. She switched from general practice to the fast pace of an ER in 2015 and found her passion in emergency and critical care.
Amanda has been involved in many avenues in the veterinary industry. She has volunteer experience in wildlife rehabilitation, is a certified instructor for veterinary CPR, and has served on multiple boards and committees within the profession. In December 2019, Amanda and her husband decided to relocate from Calgary and have settled into their new lives on Vancouver Island. When not in a clinical setting, Amanda spends time hiking or going backcountry camping in the mountains, traveling, and tending to her house plants. She is a coffee addict, wine enthusiast, and loves spending time with her cats, Kali Coconut and Cougar Puff.
