Emergency Veterinary Hospital Open 24 Hours a Day

Mikayla Hogg

Veterinary Assistant

Mikayla is originally from Edmonton, Alberta and her love of animals blossomed when she was young, often borrowing textbooks from the library about all kinds of animals. She earned a degree at MacEwan University majoring in Biological Sciences with a Psychology minor. In the summer of 2020, she volunteered at a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation organization where she found her passion for animal care. The more she worked with animals, the more at home she felt! She started exploring the opportunities of careers involved in animal care and is looking forward to pursuing further education related to the field.

In September 2020, Mikayla and her partner moved to Vancouver Island with their two dogs, Pongo and Sirius. When she is not at CIVEH, she can be found spending time outside hiking or at the beach, or just hanging out at home reading while cuddling her dogs.
