Emergency Veterinary Hospital Open 24 Hours a Day

Julie Mackey

Although she feels lucky to be born and raised in Nanaimo, B.C., Julie has lived and worked all over B.C. and the prairie provinces. Her love for animals, especially wildlife, led to obtaining a BSc in Biology from UNBC, followed by a variety of wildlife field research jobs and many years working in wildlife rehabilitation. As a veterinary assistant at CIVEH, Julie enjoys being able to aid doctors and technicians in life saving procedures and to be able to witness the amazing recoveries of patients. At home, she is happy to share her home with a spoiled Calico cat named Moe, and Tia, a never resting Duck Tolling Retriever.
