Emergency Veterinary Hospital Open 24 Hours a Day



Jeanine been surrounded by animals her entire life. She grew up in Coombs, BC with a variety of pets from dogs, to cats to guinea pigs and was a member of her local 4H club. If she wasn’t spending time with her own animals, she was at a friends’ mucking out stalls. After Jeanine graduated and received her BSc. in Fisheries and Aquaculture, she had the privilege to work with and train African penguins and California sea lions in Edmonton, Alberta. Ultimately, she made her way back to Vancouver Island with her husband to be closer to family and her first love, the ocean. In her spare time, Jeanine loves to explore tide pools with her daughter, identify aquatic critters, scuba dive, or just relax by the sea with her toes in the sand.

May 18th 2022 - Official Communication Dear Community, Necrotizing fasciitis is an uncommon disease in dogs but given the number of cases we have seen recently, it is important that we, as pet owners (myself included) are vigilant. However, the first thing we must not do is panic. I would like to take this time to give you an overview of the disease so that you know what to look out for and when to seek veterinary care.
